Walton-Le-Dale Arts College & High School
Bamber Bridge Preston Lancashire
Walton-le-Dale High School was opened in 1957 as a 3 form
entry secondary school for boys and girls aged 11-15 years. The school
grew gradually until, in 1977, it was re-organised as an 11-16 comprehensive
High School. The school serves the town of Bamber Bridge and the
areas of Walton-le-Dale, Gregson Lane, Hoghton, Higher
Walton, Clayton
Brook, Whittle-le-Woods, the outskirts of Preston and Blackburn and
parts of the Ribble Valley.
Walton-le-Dale is a learning community which prides itself on concern for the individual. Each person is unique, with their own individual strengths. We value everyone equally.
We ask three things of our students and staff:
- To work to the best of their ability, having pride in their work
- To challenge themselves, taking risks in pushing themselves further than they thought might be possible
- To show respect for others and be supportive of the needs and rights of others
We have a Responsibility to Prepare our Students for Adult Life
At Walton-le-Dale Arts College & High School:
- We aim to provide learning
experiences for
the mental, physical, social, moral, emotional, spiritual and cultural
growth of our young people.
- We acknowledge that every person is unique with
individual strengths and weaknesses, needs, likes and dislikes, regardless of age, sex,
race or ability and we seek to value everyone alike.
- We wish them to live
effectively, now and in the future, as individuals,
members of groups and in society at large, with due respect for
their community and the environment.
- We expect everyone to give and receive the
respect due from one
person to another
- We want our young people to learn how to
learn.
